Teratology Information Service

On January 2011 the Teratology Information Service (TIS), which was previously a department of the National Institute for Health and Environment, became a part of Lareb. TIS is the knowledge in the field of the possible effects of drug use and other exposures (such as radiation, infectious diseases, food) on pregnancy, the unborn child, lactation and fertility.

Goals

TIS provides accessible, independent information to anyone based on the most recent insights. We contribute to increase knowledge about possible effects of drug use during pregnancy and lactation by doing research.

Information Service

We share our knowledge with healthcare professionals and individuals in the following ways:

  • General information on the website about drug use during pregnancy;
  • The reference book "Drugs, pregnancy and lactation (GZB). This is written for healthcare professionals and all who are interested;
  • Factsheets with the most common topics and questions;
  • Telephone service for healthcare professionals when an individual risk analysis is needed;
  • E-mailservice to individuals.
